“Continuous support from a trained doula during labour has been shown in systematic reviews to be associated with shorter labours, reduced need for pain medication, fewer cesarean and instrumental births, and greater satisfaction with the birth experience.”

Holistic Birth Support for Women Who Want to Trust Their Body and Be Informed Every Step of the Way
“Whenever and however you give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body, and your spirit for the rest of your life”
Ina May Gaskin
I support women who want a calmer, more connected birth experience, one where they are informed, empowered and supported emotionally and physically from pregnancy into postpartum and beyond.
I provide in-person pregnancy, birth and postpartum support for people who live within 60 minutes drive from Exeter. I also provide remote support, via WhatsApp or calls, for people anywhere. Please see below for a detailed description of the types of support available, and please do book a free discovery call if you’d like to discuss what kind of support feels right for you.
If you are not completely sure about the support you are looking for or have an idea but it is not listed, I can be flexible in the way I work and am always open and happy to chat about how I may best support you.
You don’t have to navigate this alone. If it feels right, you’re warmly invited to book a free consultation.
*Spaces are limited throughout the year to ensure full support.

The Nurtured Journey Package starting at £2500
This package would suit you if you wish to travel this journey with a champion and advocate by your side, for me to deeply connect with you and be with you every step of the way.
I have trained in the Continuum Doula model, which places emphasis on continuity of care and support. We will see each other for six sessions antenatally, which can involve me coming to appointments with you - if you’d like that. I’ll be there to support you for the birth, by which point we’ll have developed a beautiful relationship and a deep understanding around birth preferences. Then, I’ll see you for six sessions postnatally, to support you to settle into life as a mother and reflect on the unparalleled rite of passage that is birth and becoming a mother.
My wish is that you feel comfortable and confident in your pregnancy, birth and beyond - with strong awareness of what you want and how you’d like the people around you to support that. I’d like to create space for you, so that you feel held but ultimately confident in your own capabilities. You already have everything you need within you and I’ll be there to help you believe that that’s true.

I’m here to support wholeheartedly and without judgement, whatever you choose and whatever unfolds

My approach...
I am a mother to four incredible grown-up children, and it is through my own journey of pregnancy, birth, and motherhood that this work found me.
My early experiences of birth showed me two very different sides of support—what it feels like to be unheard and vulnerable, and what it feels like to be truly held, safe, and supported. That contrast stayed with me and shaped the path I walk today.
Over time, I came to understand that birth is not only a physical experience, but an emotional and spiritual one that can leave a lasting imprint on the body.
Through my own healing journey—working gently with my experiences through somatic practices, therapy, and embodied work—I began to listen more deeply to my body and to what it was holding. I learned how powerful it can be to feel supported, witnessed, and safe enough to soften.
I have also witnessed, both in my own births and in the women I support, how deeply the mind and body are connected in birth. The thoughts we hold, the fears we carry, and the level of safety we feel can influence how birth unfolds—either creating tension and resistance, or allowing the body to open and progress more freely.
This understanding is at the heart of how I work as a doula.
I offer a calm, grounded presence where you can feel safe, supported, and deeply listened to. I gently support you in coming back into your body, softening the mind, and building trust in yourself—so that you can move through your birth feeling more connected and held in your experience.
I understand that every birth journey is unique. You may be feeling calm and prepared, or you may be carrying fear, uncertainty, or previous experiences that are still present in the body. Wherever you are, you will be met with care, respect, and without judgement.
My role is not to lead or direct your birth, but to walk alongside you—to hold a space where you feel safe enough to trust your body, your instincts, and your own way of birthing.
I hold deep respect for birth as a powerful threshold. It is not only the beginning of a baby’s life, but the transformation of a mother—and how you are supported within that space matters deeply.
For this reason, I choose to support only a small number of births at any one time. This allows me to be fully present with you, offering steady, continuous support without distraction or division of my attention.
It means I have the space to respond to your unique journey as it unfolds, to meet whatever arises with care, and to support you in a way that feels un-rushed, attentive, and deeply held.
I am here to support you not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually, as you move through one of the most profound experiences of your life.
With love on your birth journey,
Jessica
